We often face what appears to us to be impossible situations. The price is too great, the numbers do not add up, or the work is overwhelming. Take heart and spend some time before the Lord to assure your endeavor is what He desires. Chuck Swindoll has stated, "Great opportunities are brilliantly disguised as impossible situations!" When it is His will, nothing is impossible and the materials, manpower and the finances are closer than we realize.

One person can make a difference as we have seen this week in the Ukraine. The president of that country has stood visibly defying the military strength of Russia. His actions have encouraged millions of people. A common characteristic of leaders is that they believe they can influence and make a difference in people's lives and therefore have a great impact upon their followers.

Today many people have lost the importance of keeping the church building holy and pure before the Lord. While I understand that the building is just a building and the Spirit of God dwells in each believer, God desires our true reverence and worship in our services. Prayer and a time of reflection is often needed to prepare us to come into His presence.

"Clothes make the person", is a cliché that is not always true anymore. I was speaking to an executive in a large business who stated that he would not hire a person who came to an interview with unpolished shoes. An associate Pastor once stated that he would check my suit pockets and tie before we went to the platform to ensure they looked appropriate.

Many people enjoy watching homes transformed in a one-hour television show. The thrill and joy of decorating a new home can be exciting for new homeowners! It is even more thrilling to have an expert designer to plan every detail to decorate your own home.

In Exodus 19:3, God spoke to Moses and commands him to come up on the mountain to behold His presence. Mount Sinai became a pulpit of sorts for God to command and give ordinances to the people of Israel that they might live righteously before Him.

It is a special moment when you are selected to be a delegate or to represent your country at an international event such as the Olympics. Our son was selected to represent our country when he was chosen to wrestle in Central America. It was an honor to have him represent the United States internationally!

Going on road trips with children could be a lot of fun but also, a lot of questions can be asked. One question repeatedly asked on our trips was, "Are we there yet?" It seemed that no matter how long the trip took, it was always too long!

Happy are we when the Lord answers prayer and ends a long period of waiting. For instance, there is celebration when a soldier returns home after being deployed or a family member or friend recovers from an extended illness! For those who have fervently prayed, joy and happiness have replaced their fear and concern!

We may not have the privilege to see certain people come to the Lord by conversion. Their hearts and attitudes may be so hardened by circumstances and decisions that they currently refuse to acknowledge God's power. This should not hinder us from praying for them to acknowledge God's loving presence!
