Nursery for children birth - 36 months

Berea provides a nursery for all worship services. Our workers are trained to provide a safe, loving, and secure environment for all children. We provide both a secure and sanitary nursery to allow parents to give their full attention toward worshiping and serving Berea.

Children's Education

We offer Sunday School from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. for children, divided into the following age groups:

  • Toddlers (ages 2-3)
  • Beginners (ages 4-5) - Kindergarten
  • Primary (1st-2nd grade)
  • Middlers (3rd-4th grade)
  • Juniors (5th-6th grade)

Junior Church for children ages 3 - 5

Children are with their parents during the worship services until the start of the preaching message. In order to provide children ages 3-5 with a developmentally appropriate teaching ministry from God’s word, we offer a junior church service.

AWANA for children ages 3 to grade 6

AWANA is a national children’s ministry and Berea holds a local AWANA club in the Family Life Center on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm for children ages 3 through the 6th grade during the school year. This program is dedicated to fun, games, Bible teaching, and Bible memorization that helps strengthen children’s Christian character development.

The time involves teaching from God’s word, an interactive and engaging game time, and dedicated time for memorizing various Bible verses. Children are taught what different Bible passages and stories mean and leaders help children grow spiritually through their new understanding and application of the Bible.

Character development is an important facet of the AWANA ministry. While leaders naturally desire for children to learn biblical truths each Wednesday evening, they also want the truths to make practical differences in the children’s lives. Cultivating Christian character through making right behavioral choices, eventually adopting a biblical world-and-life view and learning to think correctly about attitude-development are examples of how AWANA helps Berea children grow spiritually.

Pastor Mark Gainer and Jay Kitchen are the AWANA Commanders. If you have specific questions, please contact the Berea church office either at Berea@BereaBibleChurch.org or by calling 937-399-9808.
