Learn More Read LessAt Berea, we take seriously the Scripture’s instructions to train up children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. We have trained teaches who come well-prepared each Sunday and who possess multiple years of teaching experience. All lessons are Bible centered and aimed at helping children learn Scriptural truths and principles. At the same time, Berea teachers also work hard in order to make lessons fun, engaging, and developmentally appropriate. Current teens and adults who have grown-up at Berea say that the Sunday school teaching they received is one of the church’s particular strengths.

AWANA is a national children’s ministry and Berea holds a local AWANA club in the family life center on Wednesday evenings. The time involves teaching from God’s word, an interactive and engaging game time, and dedicated time for memorizing various Bible verses. Children are taught what different Bible passages and stories mean and leaders help children grow spiritually through their new understanding and application of the Bible.
Character development is an important facet of the AWANA ministry. While leaders naturally desire for children to learn biblical truths each Wednesday evening, they also want the truths to make practical differences in the children’s lives. Cultivating Christian character through making right behavioral choices, eventually adopting a biblical world-and-life view, and learning to think correctly about attitude-development are examples of how AWANA helps Berea children grow spiritually.
Mr. Shaun Phillips superintends Berea’s AWANA program. With over 20 years experience in AWANA ministries he would enjoy answering any specific questions you might have and/or help you learn more about the program. Feel free to contact Berea through email or phone and Shaun will connect further.
